Promotional Writing
When I was hired as part of the ELT (English Language Teaching) team at Marshall Cavendish, my job title was listed as "creative writer" rather than "editor," mostly because my boss wanted to be able to utilize my experience as a journalist as well as a teacher. So far, I have devoted my time mainly to editing and proofreading the first in a three-part series of comic dictionaries called More Words Please: 600+ Adjectives.
In addition to reviewing the design, layout and core content, however, I have also written some promotional materials related to the project. Below is one page of a flier distributed to schools to advertise and explain the book. I wrote the paragraph at the top, as well as the breakdowns of the word groups underneath.
