APAO Congress Publications

The APAO Congress is an annual scientific meeting for ophthalmologists in the Asia-Pacific region. It is held in a different location every year, with one of the APAO member nations as a co-sponsor. As the language editor for APAO, I proofread the different Congress publications.

One important element of the Congress is the final program book, a full-color volume included in each delegate bag. The program book lists key details such as the dates, times and titles of all the lectures/events, as well as information about award winners and sponsors.

Although it is only available electronically, the abstract book is another necessary Congress publication. For this past APAO Congress, I edited more than 1,000 abstracts via the online submission system. Unfortunately, when these were exported into PDF, there were some formatting problems that required quite a bit of additional editing.
