CityU Legacy Series
For this year's Hong Kong Book Fair, we released the first two English titles in the CityU Legacy Series, which aims to spotlight distinguished scholars and academics with ties to City University of Hong Kong. The first book is about John Maeda, an artist, designer and technologist who received an honorary doctorate from CityU a few years ago.
The second book is about Stephen Smale, a famous mathematics professor at UC Berkeley and CityU who is still working part time although he is now in his mid-90s. It features newly added text combined with a previous biography of him published by the American Mathematical Society.
These were the first projects I've worked on at the press where I was involved in developing the book manuscripts from the beginning with commissioned writers. As usual, I was responsible for developmental and copy editing, plus proofreading and project management. I also helped to prepare social media posts and worked with the marketing team on the book order forms, website content, etc.
