My First Reprint

The first project I coordinated when I started at Marshall Cavendish was the More Words Please series, and the first book in that series is 600+ Adjectives. Now, almost exactly two years later, the stock has been sold, so we had to do a reprint!

In the first edition, the book has three special QR codes per page that can only be used with the MC QR Code Reader app; the QR codes provide the audio recording of the key words in English (my voice) and Chinese.

For the second edition, we decided to drop the QR codes, which changed the design of the page (see below). Now, there is a new, simpler app available, which plays all the audio recordings. There are similar apps for 600+ Action Verbs and 1000+ Nouns, too, and they're all free!

It is really cool to think that all the books we made two years ago sold out. However, the reprint process was also quite humbling, as it involved additional rounds of proofreading. Luckily, there weren't too many actual mistakes, just a few style issues and inconsistencies.
